Chris has over 35 years of experience in the inspection, measurement and valuation of land and residential and commercial property, having practised across Edinburgh, Lothians, Borders, and Perthshire since 1990. Prior to this, he qualified as an architectural technician with an ONC and HNC in Building Studies, worked for 1 year as a Local Authority Building Control Officer and was the National House Building Council’s Building Surveyor for Scotland in the mid-1990s.

Chris now manages our offices in Edinburgh, Haddington, Bathgate, Perth, Selkirk and Peebles. He has a Diploma in Building Surveying and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an RICS Registered Valuer and sat on the RICS Residential Property Professional Group Board for 14 years. He has over 20 years of experience in the preparation of expert witness reports for a variety of purposes, including allegations of professional negligence, and has represented both Pursuer and Defender in Actions of that nature.

Chris is married with 3 daughters and 1 grandson and lives in Selkirk. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading and music, following Selkirk, Scotland and England cricket and has supported Selkirk Rugby Football Club for many years. He used to play principal Tuba with Whitburn Band, before moving to the Borders, where he now continues to play with Selkirk Silver band.
