Allied Surveyors Scotland appointed to sell famous New Town jewellers

A famous jewellers’s city centre store has been put on the market as the shop closes after 50 years.

Joseph Bonnar’s Jewellers in Edinburgh’s Thistle Street has come to the market for sale through Allied Surveyors Scotland.

For decades, collectors and enthusiasts flocked to this Edinburgh institution drawn by Mr Bonnar’s eye for unique and historically significant pieces, alongside his exceptional knowledge of gemstones.

Now, the property’s striking triple window frontage awaits a new occupier.

“Through recommendation we have been entrusted with bringing the property the property to market for sale,” commented Allied Surveyors Scotland’s head of commercial agency – Scotland, Iain Mercer.

“Internally, the ground floor provides a front sales area, back sales area and a bespoke glass framed staircase leading to the basement where there is ample space for an office, stores and kitchen.”

Offers over £475,000 is being sought for the heritable title with the benefit of vacant possession.
